AEC is providing Construction Management services to construct Corbec’s fourth Canadian manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Ontario. The new facility is approximately 103,000 SF on a 15 acre site. The industrial space will house a fully automated galvanizing system, 14 FT deep equipment pits, as well as an office, cafeteria and washroom facilities for the 100 people the plant expects to employ. The site itself contains it’s own retention pond and filtration gallery for all storm water and process run-off.
AEC is also coordinating all equipment process. Since the equipment is entirely automated, designers must meet a multitude of specific criteria to ensure functionality. There are extreme tolerance requirements for the automated conveyance system – less than an inch. Any variances can throw off the system.
Construction commenced on September 1st, 2020 and is anticipated to be completed in early November 2021.
